About The AMP Society
Our Name: Why “AMP”?
We are The American Music Preservation Society. “AMP” is our mission: to Amplify the voices of the past, to Preserve the soul of a nation, and to ensure this sacred sound forever has a place in the Mainstream of our cultural conversation.
The Silent Crisis
In a forgotten vault, on fragile reel-to-reel tapes, rests the foundational soundtrack of American music: the iconic recordings of the Gospel Jubilee era. These are the masters that inspired Soul, R&B, and Rock & Roll. But magnetic tape decays. With each passing year, these irreplaceable performances—these pieces of Black history and spiritual expression—slip closer to silence. This is a race against time.
Our Sacred Mission
The AMP Society exists to win this race. We are a non-profit foundation on a critical mission: to locate, preserve, restore, and digitize the entire catalog of the Gospel Jubilee label and other foundational gospel music archives.
We do more than save tapes; we save a legacy. We are giving a new, eternal voice to the music that carried the hopes, faith, and artistry of a generation.
Join the Chorus
This isn’t a task for a few; it’s a responsibility for all who value music, history, and culture. You can help ensure the music does not fade.
